So yesterday was my big shoot. I thought things would go according to clock work. Well in L3ah’s head, everything goes according to plan. Not so much in real life.
I got 10 wonderful hours of sleep. Woke up at 9. Started to get ready. Loaded up the car at 11. Got Waffle all strapped in (she wasn’t too happy about being in the car). And headed over to Bell-Square for make up (at 11:30).
I got to the Dior counter at 11:30 to find it unmanned L I asked another counter and they said the consultant had just taken a break! WFT?! I’m a tight schedule here. I have to be in Seattle at 12:30! I was so mad! They said to wait about 10 mins for him to come back. I strolled around Macy’s, being asked if “I needed any help” about 10 times. 15 minutes later my consultant strolls in. just a few “oh, I’m so sorry-”ies and we get started.
Thankfully the final result looked really nice. I’ve never had my make up fully done before. I can do some eye shadow and foundation but that’s as brave as I get. I had the works done to me. I felt pretty *teehee*
Afterwards they always ask if you want to purchase any of the products used so I ended up with a f’ing $25 eyeliner brush and $45 with of foundation. I’ll never throw them away because they say “Dior” on them. I hurried through the mall to the car. Waffle was all slobbery but ok.
Thankfully I didn’t get lost on the way to the studio and found decent parking (which I had to pay for L ). Waffle managed to hold in her breakfast until we got out of the car. I had her sit in the back where there was more room while I went to the studio. I’m pretty sure she hated me at this point.
I went to Iris Studio on the edge of the International District. I met with Don & Su of Erotica Mystique photography. They’re a husband and wife team. Sue attempted to help me with my hair and fix any make up that might show better on film. I’m SO picky about my hair I was getting a bit flustered. I really had no idea what I was doing. I just tried to give up and let her do whatever she felt was best. We managed to shoot about 4 different outfits into 2 hours. Don and Su both took pictures so I’ll end up with twice as many shots with different angles for the same pose. I liked their approach. They’re very easy to get along with too.
Waffle was very happy to get out of the car when I got back. We headed over to Zac’s afterwards, we were going to see a movie at Central Cinemas.
I’ve always wanted to go here. You can get food and drink with your movie! They don’t show the big current blockbusters that a normal movie theater would have, but they do have great indie movies. We came to see Hank and Mike. I liked it. I can see why it is an indie movie though. I want to know how many bunny suits they had to go through just for this film, lol. The food was really good and reasonably priced too. We’ll be going back there in a week or so for Found Footage.

Friday Zac & I headed over to Laugh’s in Kirkland to see Doug Benson. Everyone was super funny. It’s strange to think of a big comedy act coming to a silly suburb like Kirkland (which they made jokes about). Laugh’s is pretty cool. I like it better than Giggles.
I had an awkward moment of running into Evan so we could swap one another’s belongings but things went well (better than I’d expected). We’re working on finding time for Waffle visitation.
Poor Waffle, she had to learn how to go potty with no grass this weekend. Zac’s apartments have no grass near them, just a giant court yard. Thankfully she figured she could tinkle on the gravel but pooing became an issue. I tried putting her in the big planter boxes/beds to see and it just wouldn’t work. But given enough time she REALLY had to go and figured out to go on the gravel. Thankfully no accidents inside. She’s very good at letting me know when there’s a potty emergency, lol.
This week is a big week for me. For the longest time I’ve wanted to get into the Burlesque/pin-up/model world. Since I’ve recently lost 10lbs I’ve felt a lot more confident and decided to take a step towards what I want. I found a couple on craigslist that does the type of photography I’m after and have scheduled a shoot for Wednesday. Sadly they don’t have someone to do hair and makeup so I need to figure this out for myself. I’ve scheduled an appointment at Macy’s for my makeup. The wife of the team is going to attempt to help me with my hair. I pray everything goes well. If it does I’ll post the site for where I’m going to help promote them.
As for the actual Burlesque side of things I’m still debating if I want to sign up for the Seattle Burlesque School. There is a course in April that I could join, however, a 6 week class is $500! I would have time to save up but I would need to be 100% dedicated to my choice. I will wait for the final photos to see how I feel about everything.

I’ve been listening to the radio alot more now, since i don’t take the bus and I’ve been contemplating making a playlist for my iPod. It’s about a certain someone (not telling
)
But here’s my list so far:
“Womanizer” by Britney Spears
“Lately” by Helio Sequence
“Hot n Cold” by Kate Perry
“Love Lockedown” by Kanye West
“We Get On” by Kate Nash
There’s more I want to add, i just can’t remember the song names right now. This would keep me level headed.

I have had a great weekend.
Friday I went to Neumos to see Helio Sequence. A coworker, his partner and a semi-friend (of mine) were suppose to join me. I also had a bit of date coming to see the show too. My date had bought a ticket online just a few days before hand and the others were just going to show up at the door. I was the first one there and saw a sad note: “SOLD OUT”. I called and texted everyone to let them know to head back home. I was bummed they couldn’t come. Luckily my date showed
*insert giant big cheesy grin here*
The Pale Pacific opened. They were pretty good. Just something I would put on in the background but not really listen to. The second band was too weird for Zac and I. We talked through most of it.
We ended up to the far left of the stage by the merch. table to see Helio Sequence. We had and excellent view of the drummer. IT WAS INCREDIBLE! This is my third most favorite concert EVER. The drummer was wild. His arms were flayling and his facial expressions were crazy (and this is not very fast music either). I knew almost everything they played (even though I had no CDs at the time).
Saturday morning I bought all 4 albums on iTunes, lol. I pray they come back very very soon.
I headed over to the mall to meet a friend at the Parlor for Saturday afternoon. We hung out and saw RocknRolla that night. THAT is a good movie! I love Guy Richie films.
Sunday Zac came over. Our original plan was to take Waffle to Marymoor but it was too crappy out. We went to the Brown Bag Cafe instead. We took Waffle for a walk on the trail near home afterwards. She nearly yanked the leash out of my hand trying to hunt down a squirrel. The 1st season of Chowder was in my mail box so we watched half of the episodes before he headed home. *another big cheesy grin here*.
Sunday evening I went to Lucky Devil tattoo to see Jerad and get my new tattoo. I’ll get a picture soon (damn, lack of digital camera!).
I’m sad to be back at work but looking forward to the weekend (the Doug Benson show & Bassnectar).

I don’t think I could go a month with out finding some new band or going to a concert. I think without music I would cease to be.
I just got into Ghostland Observatory. I’ve heard their name mentioned a few times but didn’t think they were my style. Boy, was I wrong! I can’t get enough of the rock/funk/electro bands lately.
They’re playing at the WaMu theater on New Years Eve. I hate planning my NYE this early but given that I’m dateless, I can do what i want, and i want to see Ghostland!! So I just got tickets. It’s going to be incredible!
I wish I could do something with my love of live shows. Can anyone think of a profession I could seek out? What does a promoter’s job entail? I don’t wanna be those guys handing out flyers but I wanna get into the industry somehow. help!
