Between the house cleaning & fixing up, working out, and just plain work I’m still finding time to knit.
I finished a pair of arm warmers I started back in August of last year (this required frogging and starting in the round).
I’ve finished the Summer Shawelette. This also required frogging. I thought that the yarn was suppose to be held double because such thin yarn (rowan silk wool dk) couldn’t be on size 10s and make any sense. After I ran out of yarn I realized I should just try the pattern with the yarn held singly. This made more sense as I kept going. It’s a super cute shawl. I just might wear it to my cousin’s wedding soon.
I restarted the Shedir. I’ve changed to size 6s because 3 are too tight. I’m 3 inches into the hat and 6’s seem to big. Oh well! I’ve come too far. Maybe I’ll end up with a hat that will actually fit Evan’s giant head.
I couldn’t stand not having this book anymore so I bought Going Straight. The hats are so cute! and it takes me out of my comfort zone by making them on straight needes (not in the round). I made a Picklehaube this weekend and there’s no way it’ll fit a size 23″ head. It’ll have to be a child’s hat for now. I have some ideas on how to make this bigger in the future.
The summer Interewave Knits showed up last week and I’m not too jazzed about it. I haven’t learned how to knit with multiple colors yet and that seems to be the only patterns in this issue. I like the Elinor Tunich by wendy Bernard because it’s a top down tank top and Apres Surf Hoodie, but that’s about all.
I wasn’t too impressed with the Spring Knitty either.
Yosemite is nice, i might get tired of all the cables though.
The Lace Ribbon Scarf is cute. I could see it taking a long time to finish though. An inbetween projects project.
Spirogyra is really pretty! I actually finished a pair of these but they are WAY TOO SMALL!. If I make them again I will use bigger needles!
I really need to fix Evan’s sweaters. He’ll never wear them if they’re they way they are now. The Saranac’s collar needs to be fixed and the Cobblestone Pullover’s neck hole needs to be bigger. This should be my next mission.
