Saturday: Somehow we woke up at 8:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep. We had to decide where to go for breakfast since CC’s food was not an option. I’m totally drawing a blank as to what we did that morning. I think we walked to the Wynn and went to the buffet they had. It was way overpriced (I feel bad that evan paid for it all). But the food was sooo good! They had tons of stuff to choose from. The first round Evan and I walked it together and picked different things. Then he would finish a plate and go off and come back with stuff I hadn’t seen before. ThenI ‘d go and try and find the same food he had and would end up in a different section and bring back even more yummy food. lol. We got stuffed and waddled back to our hotel to get in line for the shuttle for Vegoose.
Ok, I’m gonna get a little bitchy because of the experience we had when arriving at the stadium. A while back, when preparing for this trip, we bought a travel package from the OFFICIAL website. We got our hotel stay, shuttle option, and VIP “tickets” all in one purchase. The website sent us a packet with all of the things we’d need for the show (or so we thought). We ended up moving from line to line trying to get the actual ticket we needed to get into the show. The people at the stadium box office said that they were not the vegoose employees and that we would have to buy tickets. And apparently what we bought was an “upgrade” to a normal ticket. WHAT THE FUCK. Why would you sell a fancy package like that and not include the ticket?! I called the emergency phone # they gave us and no one answered. I left two “wonderful” messages requesting a call back and they NEVER did. So we had to spend $300 more to get 2 day passes to the show.
Once inside things got a bit better. With the VIP bracelets we were able to hang out in a nicer area with private, air condition! bathrooms. There was free food (which was just ok) and discounted drinks. I think I bought about 10 bottles of water over the two days we were there. We got a free shirt and poster when we entered. There were also special viewing areas for us too. HOWEVER, there was no viewing area for the main stage. FREAKING LAME! We asked some staff where our area was and they pointed over to some beer tent way far away. It made no sense.
It was also fun to people watch while you were resting. Tons of people dressed up in costumes. They also had a costume tent if you wanted to dress up while you were there. It was just too hot for me. I couldn’t see how some people lasted all day like that.
That day we saw Cypress Hill, Public Enemy (with Flavor Flaaaaav!), M.I.A., STS9, Queens of the Stone Age, and the ending bits of Gogol Bordello and Lupe Fiasco. It was hilarious to see the giant clouds of “smoke” coming off the crowd during Cypress Hill.
I managed to get pictures of Cypress, P.E., and STS9. MIA was ok, she was alittle full of herself though. I tried getting pictures of her but her sequin jacket was too shiney and she moved around too much, the camera just couldn’t focus on her.
They had other things to do during the day besides music. There were vendors, a sexy haunted house (which I didn’t go into), a fake wedding chapel, an impersonater tent, and other stuff.
I would have liked to stick around to see Daft Punk but we had a Halloween party to get to around 10. The company who ran the shuttle service for this concert SUCKED. We got to the shuttle line up spot and they wouldn’t take us back until we had a certain amount of people! There were about 5 of us at the time and we were pissed. Everything about that concert was not prepared well. The staff had no idea what was going on at any point throughout the day.
We made it back to CC, changed, and headed out again. The halloween party was crazy. I wish we brought a camera, but the website said we couldn’t, but everyone had one. They could’ve done a better job conducting traffic and lines of people cause it got a little crowded and scary at one point. They took over a whole hotel for this event. Part of it was out by the pool and every time we walked by it i was afraid I’d fall in. I saw atleast 6 ladies with the same costume as me, lol. My feet were killing me by the end of the night. I really need to buy some of those Dr. Scholles for ladies feet things.
I think it was about 3:30 when we got to sleep.
